Sutherland is the gateway to Sydney's South and is synonymous with the beach and its many natural environments.
Over sixty individually numbered markers distributed along Sutherland's beaches are designed to inform and assist beach-goers and emergency services personnel.
They assist with determining location, as well as providing regulation and warnings. The windsocks draw attention to the markers and encourage beach visitors to be mindful of the weather.
