Based in Brisbane Australia, we are a small, highly specialised interdisciplinary team of Wayfinding strategists, planners, designers and communicators. Our Clients are leaders and champions in their fields. Our projects have been internationally awarded. We collaborate with architects, landscape architects, interior designers, urban & transport planners and engineers. Our projects take us around Australia and abroad.
We are looking for an experienced Urban Designer or Planner who can join our Senior Design Team to deliver Wayfinding solutions in an urban context.
Our design discipline is experiencing unprecedented growth as Clients and end users realise the investment return on this specialised area of design.
As a direct result of this, we are looking for a highly motivated urban designer to bring their, expertise, complementary skills and insights to this sought after area in design, that is Wayfinding.
This position will give you the opportunity to apply your talent and skills to high profile Wayfinding strategies and projects in complex urban environment systems.
You will oversee and be involved in the design process – from analysis and research, to concept and design development. Working closely with our dynamic team of designers and Clients, you will contribute to building our reputation within the Wayfinding, Urban Design, and Environmental Graphic Design sectors.
As an Urban Designer, you will have the ability to –
Interface and engage with high profile Clients and stakeholder groups.
Lead projects contributing your urban and transport design / planning skills and expertise.
Confidently and articulately present design work.
Be responsible for design outcomes.
Lead, manage and supervise a team of designers in a dynamic workplace.
Assist with proposal writing.
Value the aesthetics, function, and empathetic aspects of our work.
Five+ years experience Client facing on medium to large scale projects.
Previous engagement in Urban Design and/or Planning for the Public Realm, Transport, or sector with a strong focus on Wayfinding.
Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Urban Design or Planning or Wayfinding related field.
A good understanding of Australian standards for design and construction.
Successful track record of business networking and development.
Influential written, spoken and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient inIndesign, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Word & Excel.
Dotdash operates on a Mac platform.
